Made some subtle changes to "Jan". Didn't get any model time, but there were some tonalities I needed to smooth out, etc.
So I decided to take some painting time for a still life today. I have the tremedous luck of having an antique store next door where I can "borrow" my still life objects. What fun! 5"x 8"

The still life is 5"x8". The portrait is 18"x18"
You softened edges? It seems ever so slightly softer (and more atmospheric) than the in the earliet photo.
Good eyes Trevor! I softened some of the edges, changed a bit of the head shape and lightened some of the really dark areas in the cheek. Every time I look at the painting, I see a dozen things to work on. Someday it may be done...or my model may just stop coming!
